In November of 2012, Google released Android 4.2 and introduced Photospheres. These were user submitted, 360 degree, panoramic images that could be geo-tagged and made publicly accessible through Google Earth. I became interested in one particularly prolific uploader who over four years had submitted more than 1,500 photospheres from a dozen different countries. What interested me most was his dedication to the laborious task of deleting himself from his own photographs. What remains are small imperfections in the image - misaligned tiles on a garden path, the severed toe of a boot, a shadow disconnected from a body.
